About
Real stories of AI in real work: where it came from, how to use it and how to add yours.
genAI Horizons is a community of people working out what AI means for their work, by trying it and sharing what happened.
The story
It started in 2023 as a yearly event. Practitioners each shared a few minutes on how they were using AI in digital marketing, then everyone came together for a discussion. 2026 is the fourth year.
Around the event grew a LinkedIn group, now called genAI Horizons, with more than 20,000 members.
Each year the clips were shown once and then mostly forgotten. This site keeps them. Every answer stays here with the person who gave it. That way the good ideas are still around when someone needs them.
The rule for what goes on the site is simple: real stories of AI in real work, told on video by the people doing it.
Year by year
2023: Unleashing Digital Marketing's Future. Something brand new. Twelve people from the Marketing Cloud community took three minutes each, live, on how they were starting to use generative AI and where they thought it would be in five years. The advice was mostly to give it a go. Some were already worried about bias, security and legal red tape. More than 170 people signed up.
2024: Advancing the Future of Digital Marketing. Getting our heads around it. Sixteen people sent in three minute videos, played back to back, then questions. Two of them turned out to be AI avatars, revealed at the end. Others separated predictive from generative AI, put data ahead of shiny features, called out bias and showed small teams punching above their weight.
2025: Practical Recipes for Audience Engagement. Hype or real? Fewer videos came in. That said something too: for many of us there wasn't much new to report yet. It felt more like a workshop, the recordings first, then a discussion. The examples got practical: preparing client workshops with ChatGPT, personalisation, getting data ready for AI and turning a book into study notes with NotebookLM. In September we ran it again with the Melbourne Marketers Group.
2026: What actually stuck? Of all the AI people have tried, what do they still use and what did they drop? The answers live on this site. The workshop is on Thursday 5 November.
How to use what is here
- Start with a question. The home page leads with this month's question. Each question has its own page with every answer to it side by side. You can compare how different people approach the same problem.
- Follow a person. Click a name to see everything that person has answered.
- Browse by topic. Topics such as Automation or Prototyping gather clips from across the questions.
- Share what helps. Every answer has its own link. If a clip helps you or your team, pass it on and credit the person in it.
The clips belong to the people in them. Watch them, share the links and quote them with credit. Please ask before you download, edit or reuse a clip anywhere else.
How to add yours
You don't need to be an expert. You need something you tried at work with AI, what happened next and what you'd tell someone else.
- Pick a question from the site and record two or three minutes answering it on your phone.
- Send us the link through Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive. Whatever is easy.
- We do the rest: captions, your name on it and a page of your own. You see it before anyone else does. Nothing goes up without your yes.
Rather not record on your own? Email [email protected] and we will set up a time to record it together on a video call.
Contributions are videos only. Video is a little harder to fake. So what gets shared here comes from real people. Each one is checked against the rule above before it goes up.
